Dr Gerry Pahl is PetExportVet
Dr Gerry Pahl (BVSc, Sydney) is a professional Veterinary Surgeon and graduate of Sydney University.
He has been in practice for 35 years and has a wealth of experience in the Animal Health Industry.
Dr Gerry has lived and worked in Hong Kong for the past 25 years, and is President Elect of IPATA.
His memberships and registrations include the Hong Kong Veterinary Association (HKVA) and registration with the Veterinary Surgeons Board (HK) Dr Pahl continues to be a registered Member of the Australian Veterinary Association and of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) United Kingdom.
Dr. Gerry was raised on a sheep farm in rural Victoria, surrounded by animals. He is a keen and experienced horseman and an animal lover. He has worked in large animal, mixed, exotic and horse practices over his thirty five year career and his interest and surgical skills have seen him work in Australia, the United Kingdom, Germany, Scotland and Hong Kong.
Dr Gerry continues to have special interest in surgery, especially brachycephalic snub nose breeds Obstructive Airway surgical procedures, orthopaedic surgery of all kinds and soft tissue surgery. He is partner in two of Hong Kong’s most established veterinary clinics.
Dr. Gerry understands that a professional service with care and industry knowledge in every step of the pet move and relocation process is paramount in getting your pet safely relocated to their end destination of being home safe with you.
His own pets include dogs Rosie, Poppy and Primrose, four tortoises, Duncan, Glinda, Elphaba and Roxy and two gorgeous, crested geckos Hermione and Gizmo
His work within IPATA since becoming a member in 2010 has been invaluable to keeping Dr Gerry and PetExportVet as an industry pet shipping leader. With industry worldwide pet shipping partners, PetExportVet has gained credibility among the airline industry, and managerial and corporate leaders to be a resource of information for pet shipper IPATA members globally.
Dr Gerry believes in continued professional development and his work in IPATA reflects this with being honoured the IPATA Excellence award for Pet Shipping in 2018 and being elected President Elect for an upcoming term of President for this Association.

Dr Gerry has gained industry attention for his instrumental BOAS assessment Fit to Fly checklist that has been adopted by Qantas, CX and Latam Airlines,Brazil and currently in managerial discussion with several International airlines. Implementing the BOAS fit to fly assessment for the safe pet shipping and air travel for Snub Nosed Brachycephalic breeds will change the industry standard for snub nose pet moving worldwide .
